User generated content has been endorsed by many in the online and off line marketing and advertising modes. Can this content find any place in affiliate marketing?
In the Internet world, UGC (user generated content) has received much of the attention. Web site owners and many online business to business platforms have developed their programs for the same. It is believed that user generated content appears to be more pleasing and credible to the audiences than that created by the developers themselves.
Now, that sure can be a little nuisance for our cherished affiliate marketers. Affiliate marketing agencies have been hiring trained professionals who are adept with creative writing and amusing the customers. With the attention being shifted to the audiences, the agencies might have some other requirements for the writing and content generation departments.
As web site and services in large volumes are still being launched and hosted the demand for professional writers is likely to get disturbed, but not in a big way. Many affiliates or web site owners that sell products on their web sites have hired people to write reviews and content that would reveal the customer response. These reviews or personal endorsements are considered to be helpful in convincing the customers and for increasing the rate of conversion once the visitor is exposed to the promotional content.
The advertisers or the people in the league can go a step further and host dynamic web sites, which could be modified and altered by anyone. Much like open resources, these web site can feature commercial entities, giving the customers the exact details and descriptions as felt by the audiences. How successful such ventures can be, we cannot say. One typical example is the generation of advertisements for a popular brand. The same was put into practice very recently and the results were satisfactory.
It will interesting to see whether the content generated by the users will amuse the audience for long or not.
